Hi family.....Maayong Pasko (Merry Christmas!!)
Just so you know I will be calling Christmas Eve at 8PM Texas time. I was able to sign into my skype account...Sisternicoletrayner, so make sure you are online and let's hope there aren't any internet problems in this part of the world....
We had great success last week when 3 less active members came back to church for the first time!! So exciting. They have all been pretty hard headed and so it made us so excited and happy to finally see them come to church. The work here is so great and we have so many people to teach that the other week we asked President Schmutz if they could put in another companionship here...which looks like they will be doing in the next couple of transfers. I was talking to my companion the other day and it just seems that Heavenly Father is throwing investigators at us left and right and we are struggling to teach them all because we have so many less actives! And our area is so big so that's another obstacle. This area is on the brink of exploding and we are excited...especially if 4 missionaries will be assigned here....the work will just go "BOOM!"
We have so many things to do these next few days and I think I'll just wake up and it'll be the middle of January. On Friday we have our Branch Christmas party and so are busy inviting all of the less-actives and investigators to come. We have been putting forth an extra effort to find fellowshippers for them and so far it's been great to have members work with us...it is much more effective. On Saturday we have a missionary Christmas party/devotional and I am excited :) My companion has a great voice so we'll be singing some Christmas duets....(oh how I wish I could find a viola or violin here!!)
It has been rainy here lately which makes missionary work even more exciting!! We are sliding around in the mud and yesterday night my companion just totally biffed it. I love my mission!
I really like this area here and I am hoping to finish my mission here (haha...the chances are not high!) and the branch is so great. There are great leaders and people are really willing to work. I am sad I never worked with the missionaries before my mission....(but in Utah you have to like hunt them down because they are assigned to so many wards!) I have really found a love for missionary work and I hope that all of you are fulfilling your duties in Home and Visiting Teaching....and your callings. It is so important that we help build up God's kingdom here on earth and that we help our brothers and sisters!
I am so happy that it is Christmas time. This is the best time of the year :) I am so grateful to be serving a mission right now- I am learning about what really is important and I am grateful for this time to come closer to our Savior Jesus Christ. I hope that you all will take the time to remember what Christmas is really about and what Christ did for all of us.
Have a great time (don't stress to much in that last moment Christmas shopping, DAD!) and enjoy yourselves this Christmas! Next year, we will all be together :)
Love you

happy 12.12.12
Hi family!
Thanks for your emails this past week. Don't worry, every one here is fine. I am sad to hear about the losses on the other islands but overall Negros is fine and recovered. There were just a lot of fallen trees but all is well.
I feel like I don't have much to tell this week....Last Saturday we had Zone Conference which was great and I learned a lot. It's always so wonderful to learn from other missionaries and President and Sister Schmutz.
It's super hot in this internet cafe and i'm having a hard time focusing...so sorry if this email is kind of lame.
We had a less-active member come back to church for the first time and I was SO surprised. The missionaries have been visiting her for almost a year and at first she was super hard headed. She has been offended by many members (now remember....being offended is a choice) and just forgot why we go to church each week. We don't go to socialize, we go to partake of the sacrament and to learn. We taught her a lesson and I feel that our boldness what exact enough that she came to realize she needed to come back to the church. Her family are all less active members so hopefully they will all follow. It was so great to see her at church. I LOVE RESCUING LESS ACTIVES! It is the best feeling ever---I am so grateful to be serving a mission here in the Philippines where we focus so much on the less-actives.
We were able to watch the Christmas Devotional and it was great. I was reminded of how magical this time of year is in Utah! The snow, the concerts, the music, the food....but I am grateful to be here in the Philippines. The people here go caroling and it's so funny. I love hearing them sing "We wish you a Merry Christmas" in their cute Filipino accents!!! This is a great time of year and a time to remember our Savior Jesus Christ.
I have started to read the Book of Mormon again and I am loving it. Reading the scriptures is so great, especially on the mission. You just learn so much...your brain is like a sponge! I have learned a lot from the example of Nephi. For 8 years he and his family wandered in the wilderness only to arrive at the land Bountiful- a place so wonderful when compared to the wilderness! In the wilderness they had experienced so many trials and in Bountiful they were living the life! Only a few days after arriving, the Lord called Nephi to the mountain and told him to build a ship. Can you imagine? you have suffered so many trials for such a long time and the Lord asks you to leave your comfort zone and go through another trial? This is just how are lives are. We pass through a time of trial and finally find ourselves at peace, a resting time of sorts, when all of the sudden another trial comes. We need to be more like Nephi, trusting in the Lord and going and doing. He didn't ask, "Why do I need to build a ship when where we are IS the promised land?" He had such faith and trust in the Lord. I am reminded of the quote by Elder Scott that says when we have trials that aren't results of our bad choices they are just evidence that the Lord is wanting to stretch us and polish us a little more. I know that the Lord has a plan for everyone of us and our trials are part of his plan. but if we become more like Nephi and trust in the Lord life will be better. It's much more enjoyable to be like Nephi than to be like Laman and Lemuel- always complaining!!
I love you family, a lot! You are the best. Once again, if you want a scripture case, let me know if you have regular or mini sized scriptures and i will order some for you!! ALSO--- y'all need to decide when I can call you? I have no idea what the time difference is....but i can skype on christmas eve or christmas, Philippines time. I will need to know by next Tuesday....so that i can know what time to get on!! so decide, ok?

Nakasurvive ko sa bagiuo!!
Hi family!!!
Oh my goodness gracious. I AM ALIVE!!!!
Haha, okay, I just like being dramatic. So were any of you worried about me and the crazy typhoon? Looks like Rachel and Nate knew about it but Dad had no idea when he wrote to me about the weather of his mission and the weather of Zach's mission! Way to not check the weather for the Philippines, haha.
So we found out a big storm (baguio) was heading to the Visayas on Sunday night because we ran into a member and she was literally freaking out. Hardly ever do typhoons hit this part of the Philippines...usually they turn up and hit the northern part by Manila and so when they found out this storm was predicted to be bigger than one last year which caused a lot a lot of damage every one was really worried. We were able to go and buy 72 hour kit stuff at the store after District Meeting on Monday and buy everything we would need--- living in a 3rd world country in time of a natural disaster is a crazy thing! We were told the storm was a 3 out of 4 level storm and that it was aiming for Negros. We were advised to not leave our apartments after 12 pm on Tuesday.
So.....Tuesday morning we went to work early and taught some lessons and as we were returning home it got CRAZY!!!! Oh my gosh, I was laughing so hard because the rain was just pouring and the wind was just blowing us around. A hobby of the Filippino men here is that when there is a storm, many coconuts fall from the trees (free coconuts!! yay!) and they all run to claim the free coconuts...yes, it was entertaining for me to watch but heavens! If one of those falls on you, you will die. So we made it home safe and sound. As we were eating lunch, the power went out. (meaning...no electric fan....meaning....death by heat in the Philippines) Let's just say for the next 6 hours or so we sat in complete darkness and watched the storm rip apart trees. It was the craziest thing ever! Thankfully the rain wasn't to heavy. But that wind! The storm lasted a long time but the winds only 2 hours or so. My companion has seen many storms and so she was calm about it all while I was just amazed! We didn't really have anything to do (down time as a missionary is the WORST) so we sang all the Christmas songs from the hymn book. Also my flashlight wasn't working so we used candles.
Tuesday night was a very hot night (like I said, no electric fan here=death) and when we woke up, NO WATER. We had filled up buckets of water but my patience was tried when I entered our bathroom to find that my companion had used our stored water to wash her clothes. Now talk about a trial of patience! We had drinking water but no water to wash dishes or take a shower with! Ahh! It was PDay so we headed to the mall (which all of Dumaguete decided to do as well---there's air conditioning and electricity there!!) and our Zone Leaders brought us water from their house. So kind. As they were doing so, we were so kindly informed by our neighbors that there was a bomba (water well) not too far away. So this is my favorite thing. In true Filippina style we went and pumped up our own water and hand washed our clothes. It was so great!
There isn't too much damage here....the most damage is by the ocean where the storm pushed a waiting area/boat station into the cement wall and up onto the road. Don't mess with tsunamis! A lot of trees are down and are now naked. But mostly the buildings are fine. We were really worried about the poor people here because their houses and roofs are just made out of leaves and things....some of them flew away but for the most part, the houses here survived.
So for more than 24 hours the whole city was out of electricity. It was pretty creepy walking home. When we got home on Wednesday night (I forced myself to sing "Count your Blessings" every time I wanted to complain) we were getting ready for bed and BOOM!! The electricity came on!! I cried happy, happy tears of joy as I came to the realization that my dearest friend, the electric fan, would be with me the whole night. As far as we know, our little apartment building was one of the first places to receive electricity. The Senior couple here told our neighbors to be thankful they had sister missionaries as their neighbors! Our water came back and I celebrated by taking a nice cold bucket shower.
We haven't been able to email until now due to no electricity in the city and also no internet connection. But I am glad to say that I SURVIVED A TSUNAMI!! I'm thankful for the lessons I learned from living through this...boy, was my patience was tried! It was a crazy experience and it was actually kind of fun to "go camping" here, haha.... As far as we know, Negros was hit the hardest and the storm wasn't super strong in Cebu or Bohol. I hope there wasn't too much damage. We heard today that another baguio is heading its way here, let's hope not. A missionary can handle only so much down time!
Our area is doing great and I really like it here. The branch here is actually the most functioning one I've been assigned to. The Branch President is great and the members are too. It is really close to becoming a ward and stake here! I love being out here with all the lizards and frogs and cows and goats! I forgot how great it is while I was in the city! The people are super nice and super welcoming to us here- we are welcome in their home any time and any day (a difference from the city) and the people of Negros are very receptive to other religions (they're not all just Catholic) We walk super far which is leading to some pain but I'll be careful.
My companion is so good to me and cooks me lots of yummy food and she will eat brown rice (I'm trying to avoid that starchy white rice as much as possible) and she is so kind. If you forgot, her name is Sister Abundo. I can just feel she will be transferred. A good thing can only last so long :)
I am so grateful I decided to serve a mission. As I look back, I am such a different person. I have learned so much! I have come to LOVE reading my scriptures here on my mission. I wish I could have personal study for 3 or more hours each day! I have such a strong testimony that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I have also been reading the New Testament which is so wonderful. But there is something so different and special about the Book of Mormon. In 1 Nephi 9:6 it says, "But the Lord knoweth all things from the beginning; wherefore, he prepareth a way to accomplish all his works among the children of men; for behold, he hath all power unto the fulfilling of all his words. And thus it is. Amen" Nephi didn't know why he was to make the records but he did it anyway because he had faith in God. I know whatever we are asked to do as members of his Church there will be a way prepared for us. We may not understand the "why" to everything but I know that God has all wisdom. I know we are all children of our loving Heavenly Father. We are so blessed in our family. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful family. I love you all!!

Hangin kaayo sa Negros
Family!
Well another week has come and gone! The time is going by so fast I can hardly believe it.
First, before I forget- we can Skype for Christmas!! Either on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day---of course Filipino time....so can y'all figure out when you want me to call? Also if someone can remind me what in the world my skype sign-in thing is? I totally forgot. Haha not good for when I get home. I've forgotten all of my passwords!!
So I arrived here in Negros safe and sound. This is a beautiful place! The missionaries told me that our area would be city- but it's not! It's super quiet and peaceful here. Our area is MASSIVE---not as big as our area in Bohol--- so we walk a lot (which is so great!), the air is so clean (bye bye pimples!!! hallelujah!) and we are right next to the ocean so there is always a breeze (my subject line means: so windy in Negros!), the people are so nice, and my companion IS GREAT! When I got here I just felt so much lighter. Everything: my companion, the area, the branch is so wonderful. No wonder the APs were so excited for my new assignment- like one of them said, I do have a 'package deal'!
My companion is Sister Abundo from Bicol, Philippines- up in the northern part. Her first language is Bicol then Tagalog and now she is fluent in Visaya ;) She is actually an amazing English speaker and my first Filipina companion to not be afraid of speaking English. She is 4'11 and so so so so cute. She is one transfer younger than me in the mission and she is so great!! She is super hard working and it's so nice to have someone as your companion that pushes you to work even harder. She is a great teacher (she was a teacher before her mission) and I know I will learn so much from her!
Our area is so beautiful and clean :) It is so different from Cebu! It's similar to my area in Bohol except there are more people here. The branch seems pretty functional which is great and all of the members are super super nice. We have many investigators and SO SO SO many Less Actives- just like Balamban, my first area.
We got here Friday night (it takes about 7 or so hours to travel to Negros---the drive in southern Cebu is amazing! wow!) and then Saturday morning while we were studying someone knocked on our door. They started to sing Christmas carols---but they had American accents! Haha, turns out President and Sister Schmutz and the APs had just arrived in Dumaguete and had a half hour or so to spare so they wanted to come visit us. My companion was a little bit shocked! It was so fun to see them, even though I just came from the city where I saw them quite a bit. They are so great.
Right now I am feeling great about the area and hoping that I am here for a long time (we'll see what happens....) I really like my companion and it's such a relief to have someone help me in the work so much! This will be a great transfer. I am feeling very positive about everything right now!
Our favorite thing to do is to tell people that I am from Davao- a part of the Philippines. The funny part is that they all believe it! Haha we laugh every time. It's not very often the people come across an American lady who can speak their language. We've had some good laughs.
Well family. I love you all! Thanks to those of you who wrote me!! I am so grateful to be here on my mission and to be learning the things I am. Missions are miracles. I can't believe that my one year mark is so near. Time has gone by so fast and I feel that there is still so much more for me to do here and so much more for me to learn. I am so thankful to have been raised in such a wonderful family and to have parents who taught me the principle of sacrifice. I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ and that we are led by a true and living prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I know that Jesus Christ died for our sins and no matter what trials we may face here, we can overcome all with the enabling power of the Atonement.
I love you! Email me next week! Thanks!

SNOW!?!
That beautiful, white, fluffy, straight-from-the-heaven material. As nice those words make snow sound, I do not miss it one bit! But I hope you are all enjoying it over there in Utah!
Another week has come and gone here in the Philippines and it's been great. Here are some highlights:
-We found an inactive RM last last Sunday while talking to his wife on the street. Random. We went back and taught them for the first time last Sunday. Brother Jobey isn't quite yet ready to let us know why exactly he left the Church but he was offended by a bishop after his mission. The lesson went great and his wife is super nice, but of course they aren't married and we are pretty sure he was married before to another woman which makes things COMPLICATED because there is no divorce here in the Philippines unless you have thousands of pesos to spare.
-We taught one of my best and memorable lessons yesterday to a less-active and her mom about prophets. Sister Josephine was baptized as a child and now all of her extended family who were also baptized are inactive. We visited them for the first time last week and we didn't think they would be super interested but we were surprised when we went back yesterday and taught. The Spirit was so strong and was teaching them as we spoke. I have never had someone understand so clearly- especially 2 people who are basically investigators. At the end of the lesson they basically bore their testimonies to us about the importance of prophets and how the living prophet can help them in their lives.
-Sister Prasad is doing great and learning the language so well. I am so happy for her! She is able to teach parts of the lessons.
-Christmas is so close! yay! They've been listening to Christmas music here since September! love it!!
I can't really think of anything else that happened this past week. I'm just always trying to find ways to help those people we are teaching to progress. Satan is strong here in Mabolo. City life is crazy. So many temptations for the people we teach. But I am so grateful to serve in an area just by the temple. Each day we invite people to go to temple tours every Thursday and I feel so blessed as member of the Church to know that families are forever. That no matter what happens I will see all of you on the other side of life. I know that this gospel is true. There is such a difference in the lives of active members- those who read, pray, and go to church from others who are stuck in the things of the world. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and just like Joseph Smith once said, we will get closer to God from reading the Book of Mormon more than any other book. Here on my mission I've learned what is really important in life. I have learned the things that will keep me going forever no matter what trials may come. I know that we are all children of our Heavenly Father and that He loves us. We have so much potential and we forget that sometimes! But He loves us. If we do our part, He will do His.
Thank you for all of your love and support. I am always happy to see emails from my family in my inbox :) thanks to those of you who emailed this week. Others of you---namely all of my siblings except Zach...I hope you find 5 minutes to write this sister missionary next week :). (Chastised!!)
Love all of you,
Sister Trayner

November na....unsa?!
Hello pamilya nako!
I loved getting your emails this week! So once again thank you to all who emailed me! It was great hearing from you!
It has been quite the week here in Mabolo. These past 2 or so weeks Satan has been working HARD on the members of Mabolo. We have had many frustrating days but we have had some great success this past week as well. We were able to find some new less-actives who are likely to return back to the Church. Now that Rescue Mission (finding and teaching Less-actives) has been in place for almost a year, it's only getting harder! It seems as those people who were ready and willing to return to the Church already have and now we are left with the people who have no desire, are too old to walk to the church, or people are just plain hard headed! But we have found 3 great less-actives this week and I know they will come back! We started teaching two sisters, Sister Mary Joy and Sister Mary Jane who grew up in the Church but then one married a non-member and the other was offended by church leaders. We have had some great lessons with them when the Spirit has been very strong. This Sunday is Ward Conference and so we've had members working with us a lot which has been great and MUCH more effective. I hope when I get back I can work with the missionaries a lot. Members make SUCH a difference.
Our investigator Charles will be interviewed this Saturday and I am so happy. He is learning the doctrine so fast and so quickly so we are looking forward to his baptism- the last Saturday before transfer day- so for sure the 2 of us will be able to attend! We are focusing on finding part-member families right now so hopefully we will be able to find more investigators and complete families.
One thing I thought of telling you about this week- this is seriously one of my favorite parts of the Philippines- is that the children "bless you". They take your hand and place it on their forehead. They usually just do this for old people and their parents to show respect. BUT they do it to me ALL OF THE TIME as I am just walking down the street. Little kids will come out of the middle of nowhere and take my hand! It's so cute. I just laugh every time! Especially when 12 year old boys randomly do it. Hey, at least I know they respect me, haha!
How is the election? Will we have a new president when I get home? People here love Mitt Romney. Who is his vice president? Supposedly he's young and handsome. Haha.
Don't forget to send me pictures of my nieces and nephews in their Halloween costumes!
So I don't know what else to say but that I am doing great. I really like being assigned here in Mabolo even though there are some hard times! We have such a small area to work with
but I have faith that it will progress and we will bring souls back into the fold. Missionary work isn't easy. But it's worth it!
I love you all a lot, thanks for everything you do!

Bantay Mo sa Wakwak
Hello family dearest. Can you believe that it is the last day of October?! Time is just slipping through my fingers!! Also, just so you know...you can use the sentence in the subject line for Halloween...it means "Watch out, all of you, for ghosts!!!" I chuckled to myself as I made it the subject line. I am just too clever. And isn't Visaya just the most random language ever? Love it.
So this week....umm...yeah. We had Zone Interviews last Friday and it was so wonderful! I love seeing President and Sister Schumtz. We actually see them a lot since we are assigned here in the city but any time there is a Zone gathering of some sort it is great.I learned a lot about teaching with the Spirit and how amazing missionary work is if we allow the Spirit to be with us. I also learned that I need to do lots and lots and lots more of studying the scriptures. I have started to restudy all of the scriptures in Preach My Gospel and it is so great to be learning so much!
This week we also had a great surprise at church when a Recent-Convert who is now Less-Active came to church. We were so surprised, especially since it was Stake Conference (and you know...Stake Conference means we-don't-need-to-go-to-church- because-no-one-will-notice- Sunday) Brother Mark came to church!! We were so happy. We have been really focusing on him and this was the 2nd time he has come to church since we have been assigned here...and he was only baptized in May.In the last lesson we had with him before Monday he told us to stop giving him commitments to read, pray, and go to church because he was tired of feeling guilty. So, yeah...we were worried about him but HE PULLED THROUGH.I hope he continues to choose the right and hopefully, once he has a strong testimony, he will go on a mission.
We have one investigator with a baptismal date, Brother Charles. He is 12 years old and his mom is a returning member. Their situation is so incredibly hard and my heart breaks every time we go over there. Charles hasn't had school this past week and has been responsible for taking care of his 3 younger siblings (including a 2 month old baby), washing the dishes, washing clothes, cleaning, and cooking. While their father is off either watching TV at a neighbor's house or playing basketball. Charles is an amazing 12 year old. I can't imagine doing what he is doing at such a young age. Because of his circumstances he is learning the gospel so fast and he has shared to us about how important The Word of Wisdom is. We will be washing their clothes this Friday to help out with their situation. Hardest situation I've seen here in the Philippines, so hard.
I'm trying to think of other things to say to you....but nothing much is coming to mind. I am loving my mission. It isn't easy but I am so grateful for the decision I made to serve. Oh, President Schmutz also said that they have set the missionary compliment here to 250...so a possibility of 100 more missionaries could be serving in Cebu!! They are excited...especially for all of the sisters that will be coming. The mission will be almost equal elders and sisters if they receive all of the missionaries. Crazy. Missions are great!
I hope y'all have a great Halloween. What did you all dress up as? And can I request some pictures of the nieces and nephews all dressed up? Eat some ghosts in the graveyard for me!! Also, when is the Presidential Election? Keep me updated. It's good I am on a mission or I think it'd be addicted to reading articles and such about it!
Love you all,

Hello mga gwapa ug mga gwapo,
I hope you've all had a great week. First, we have another birthday in the family.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TYSON AND JAXSON!!! I can't believe it's been one year! I wish I was there to celebrate it with you two cuties but I am sure Rachel will spoil you enough for the two of us :)
This week was another good one. I am trying to think of highlights of this week but nothing is really sticking out. We dropped many investigators this week due to either them becoming uninterested or moving out. So we lost many from our teaching pool but I know the Lord is one our side because we are slowly building it up again. I wish I wouldn't have been assigned in Balamban for my first area. The work there is just miraculous! So many Less-Actives who are willing to listen to the missionaries. Now don't get me wrong, the city is much easier than Bohol but sometimes it's a battle. Those Less-Actives. Those hard hard hard heads!! But the work will continue to go forth. This is the work of the Lord!
My companion and I are still trying out the best way for her to learn the language. I know it is so hard for her. In the MTC we had hours to study the language and to receive instruction but here in the field it is much different. We only have one hour of language study. I know as she applies herself to speaking the language she will learn it. So this past week I have spent a lot of time encouraging her to keep on going. I lost my voice for a few days and I appreciate how much she helped with the lessons. She is trying her best. She'll get it.
Oh yeah, MOM THANK YOU FOR THE PACKAGE. Oh my chocolatey peanut buttery goodness! That is a package full of temptation, haha! I also got a lot of letters from friends back home...so to any of you that check my blog, thank you for sending me mail. It is the best!!
Keep me updated about the election. When does it even happen?? I know it is in November but I forgot which day in November. Also keep me udpated about Rachel's relationship status. She didn't write me this week so I am dying here wondering if she went from "single" to "engaged" on her FB page after her LDS singles cruise. Hahaa. I think I'm so funny.
Well things are pluggin' a long.... I can't believe it is almost November!! Where has the time gone?? Before I know it my mission will be over. I hope everyone is happy and that you are all enjoying your lives. Thanks for the time you take to write me. I love you all and I am so grateful for all that you have done for me. You're the best!

James and Bruce.
So I was very sad to hear the news about Pa passing. My mission president called me while we were out and about and I just felt an instant peace in my heart. I know Pa is in a better place and that he will have the opportunity to accept the gospel plan in his life. Being assigned here in the Philippines we are on a "Rescue Mission". We are asked to visit the Less-active members, whether they be open or be the most hard headed of all hard heads. While I've been here I've thought a lot about my two grandpas, who are inactive members of the Church. I don't know their reasons and I don't know what has happened in their lives. But I've often thought about how much is missing in their lives because the gospel is SO true. I know Pa didn't understand completely the gospel plan while he was here and I know he will have the opportunity to understand it and accept it. I know that families are forever and that they are the most important gift we are given from our Heavenly Father. We have been entrusted to love and support one another. I am so grateful to hae known Pa and for all of his funny jokes and all of his stories. I am grateful for the example he set for my father. I am so happy to hear that in his last days, in his pain, he thought of me over here in the Philippines. I miss you Pa but I have total confidence you are in a better place and that you are with the ones you love. I know Bruce is on his shoulder and they are just telling jokes together :)
This week has been another great one. For the first time since leaving we were able to reach Mission Standards of 25 lessons. I was so happy Sunday night knowing that if I have patience the Lord will help us to achieve. We've had several Less-Actives hide from us this week...which we just laugh about. It makes me sad to know of the blessings they are cheating themselves of.
General Conference was AMAZING and I learned so much. Especially about families. I am so grateful for my families and for everything each one of you has done for me. I can't imagine where I would be without all of you. You have all had such a powerful impact on my life. Thank you for your love and for you support. I feel your prayers in my life every day.
I am short on time today (your letters made me cry!!) but know that I love all of you. The gospel is true and stick to it! No matter what happens in life. Read your scriptures and say your prayers.
ALSO A VERY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BEAUTIFUL SISTER!!!! I HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT ONE SIS! (and that you find Mr. Right on your LDS singles cruise)
Love you all,
Nicole

Family! Wow I was so happy to receive emails from ALL of you!! What a great P-day this is :)
First, oh my gosh! The age for missionaries. Yes, we haven't even heard or seen General Conference but the elders told us about it at District Meeting Monday Morning. I am so excited to hear the gasps of surprise! First of all, THIS IS SO GREAT. Because more sisters will go on missions!! I can't imagine going on a mission when I was 19 years old but I know it is so possible...and those cute little straight-out-of-highschool elders...haha....I think it is such a great thing. I am so glad I decided to go on a mission so it's exciting to know more sisters will have the opportunity...since most either get married or feel that they need to graduate before going on missions and such. SO GREAT! I hope I get a 19 year-old companion, haha.
I AM SO EXCITED TO WATCH CONFERENCE. We will finally get to watch it this Saturday and Sunday. I am excited to hear the talk Zach talked about...about conversion/testimony and also Elder Holland's talk. We will get to eat breakfast with President and Sister Schmutz Sunday morning at the mission home. I am excited :)
We have had a great week here in the Mabolo South area. Our area is booming! Our ward members are finding people left and right for us to teach and we are finding people on our own. It is the CRAZIEST experience! We just go and talk to people and they ask us to come and share with them. We have so many teaching appointments every day. This is the missionary work I love! Staying busy, busy, busy. We had great success this Sunday when a Recent Convert, Sister Roelin, who has gone inactive came back to church!!! We were so happy. Her husband is a less-active and hasn't wanted to be taught by missionaries but he is willing for us to visit him now. Success. Also, Sister Edna (the RM less-active I wrote about last week) CAME BACK TO CHURCH THIS WEEK!!! I almost cried because I was so happy. The first step is so so so hard to make for these less-actives so it is so exciting to see them take the first step to returning back to the fold.
Also, Filipinos LOVE American politics....hah they always ask me about Obama and Romney...but of course I don't say anything (missionary white handbook) Most of them HATE Obama...they tell me he's part of a mofia...haha. But I am glad to hear Romney did well in the debate. Come on America! Keep me updated about the election.
I didn't know Kara had her baby?? Haha, I feel SO OUT OF THE LOOP. 2 weeks ago I found out Laci was pregnant? and now Kara has had her baby? People, give me the details! I'll come home and Rachel will have a husband and no one would have told me!!
I can't believe how fast time is flying by. I love my mission!! I know I say that every week but it is SO true. I have learned so much here in the Philippines and I am a much better person for everything I have experienced. I don't want to ever come home :) I hit 9 months tomorrow. Crazy. I am so grateful to be here. I can't even express how much I have learned, how much love I have felt from Heavenly Father and also love for the people we teach and talk to everyday, and how true the gospel of Jesus Christ is! I know families are forever. I know there is nothing that can pull us apart as a family if we are living our covenants and loving, serving, and helping one another. I am so grateful for my family--all of you! I am thankful for the atoning sacrifice of our Savior and brother, Jesus Christ. It is through Him that we can return to our loving Heavenly Father.
Thank you for all of your support. I feel your love and know that I am well prayed for :) It makes me so happy to know that there are 4 of us in different parts of the world. If this gospel wasn't true we wouldn't be doing this great work! Keep your emails coming! I love all of you.

Dugay Dugay na...
PAMILYA NAKO!!
Well another great week has come and gone here in the Philippines. We've definitely had some great experiences this past week so I am excited to write to you all about them.
Last Wednesday we went to visit an inactive member: Sister Edna, who is a RM, about 40 years old, and is split from her husband. Her family are all members and her parents were actually some of the first people here in the Philippines to become members in the 1960s. Anyway we went to teach her relative (who is a recent convert and now less active) and she happened to be there so, on the spot, without preparing to teach her, we asked if we could share with her. I was so nervous at first! Sister Edna has served a mission, grew up in the church so obviously something had happened to her because she stopped going to church for many many years. Anyway I just had a prayer in my heart that I would be able to speak the right words at the right time, especially since my companion cannot understand the language yet. So we started the lesson and I had NO IDEA what we were going to share or what I was going to say. Anyway it was the most amazing experience here on my mission and I will not forget it. I felt the Spirit guide me as I asked her the questions I needed to ask and find the scripture that we needed to share to her. She ended up crying and telling us she wants to return to the Church but of course she has some obstacles to overcome. The Spirit was so so strong and she opened up to us about her concerns. It was a great experience to have and we all felt the spirit. She didn't go to church this last Sunday but I know she will come back.
I titled the subject line "Dugay Dugay na" which means "a while now". Because we have been searching for those inactives and we met several this past week who were baptized in the 1970s and haven't been to church since then! Isn't that the craziest thing? And we are the first missionaries to go visit them since their baptisms. Some of them are pretty hard-headed and of course have totally forgotten about the gospel and moved on to new things but we've had a couple of lessons now with some of them. One is Sister Ludivina who was baptized in 1975 and was only active for 2 years when she remarried to a devout Catholic and wasn't allowed to have anything to do with the church (oh be wise, what can I say more? in your choice of spouse!!) She has TOTALLY forgotten EVERYTHING. Yesterday we taught her the first part of Lesson 1- God is our Loving Heavenly Father and that the Gospel Blesses Families. It was a great experience. Our only problem now is her husband...who lives in a different part of the island. But I know Heavenly Father will soften hearts and she says we are welcome to teach her as long as he is not there (which shouldn't be a problem because he only visits on special occasions) Anyway we shared about temples and family sealings and with the temple being so close it is always such a powerful lesson. The temple from our area is only one ride- about 5 minutes!
This week we've had storms and it's been CRAZY!! On Saturday my umbrella broke :( And we didn't have time to go get another one...and then....on Sunday while we were out working the rain came POURING( for hours and hours)!! And we had no where to go because we were headed to an appointment. Needless to say I was soaked HEAD to TOE. My hair was dripping and my mascara was smeared! I basically took a shower, haha. But the work goes on...we worked until the evening! Every time something like that happens I think of our pioneer ancestors and what they did. If they can walk miles in snow and cold I can walk in the rain. So it's not so bad. Every one was freaking out though yelling, "asa ang imong payong?!?!" meaning... "where is your umbrella??" Oh, the mission life. Love it.
My companion is doing so great. Her Visaya is getting better and better. Sometimes I feel stressed since so much rests on my shoulders with our work and the people we teach (due to the Language) but I am so grateful to have her as my companion. She helps me out in so many ways. This past week we found an Indian Restaurant in our area and we ate some DELICIOUS food...Sister Prasad was the happiest. Also this is kind of funny. There was one Indian man there too who could only speak a little English but spoke Visayan. He wanted to talk to Sister Prasad so he would talk to me in Visaya and then I would translate for her. Isn't that funny? Here I am, an American, translating a Filipino language for an Indian to speak to another Indian. What is this world coming to??
Then also we finished the One Week Mission with our ward...I wouldn't say it was as successful as it could have been. They only had the members work from 1-5...which is not the brightest idea because people have work! So it could have been more efficient. And a lot of the auxiliaries didn't really pull it together. But at least we were able to learn our area better and be introduced to new less actives. It was so fun though because on Sunday President and Sister Schmutz came to our ward and all of the temple missionaries. There were sooo many Americans, haha. But it was so great! The Temple President and his wife also came. I've learned a lot about sacrifice here on the mission. If a ward will sacrifice their time to help build up Zion, miracles happen. I know this was just their first time and the next time they do it more of the ward members will catch the vision.
I am SO happy to hear about Zach being in Chile. After I read his email last week I cried! I am so happy to hear about all of the good things happening in our family. (ehhem... even though y'all aren't the most faithful of writers ;) ) I am so grateful for our new assignment here in Mabolo. I am actually LOVING it. We talk to so many people every day and it is such a blessing to be working in the shadow of a temple. I think I'm being converted to the city?? We'll see....but of course I still do miss Bohol. I am learning so much here on my mission. I've finished Matthew and Mark now in the New Testament and I have learned so much about the Savior. About what a true disciple of Jesus Christ will give up: their whole life. I am so grateful for these 18 months that I can be focused on Him. Missions are Miracles! Even though working with inactive members is what I think to be the hardest work I've ever done, it is also the most rewarding. It's so rewarding to see people come back into the fold. And to be the one helping them to do so. Watching those hard hearts turn softer through the gospel and love of Jesus Christ. I am just so happy right now on my mission and don't think I'll be able to leave next August!!
I hope you had a great birthday Mom, you didn't mention anything about it! I can't believe how fast time is flying by. The weeks just come and go. I hope that all is well with you all!! General Conference is SO SOON!!! I am so excited!! We'll watch it one week delayed. I hope everything is well for Elder Trayner!! I love you family!

CHILE????
WOW right now I am so excited for Elder Trayner....I can't believe he is headed to Chile!! What the? Does he already have his visa and stuff?? Oh my goodness. I did not think he would go outside of the US. How exciting. I am very happy for you, Zach!! Those Chileans are gonna love you!!
So another week has come and gone here in the Philippines. This week has been a good but a stressful one. Our ward here is so great but so large (185 attend sacrament) that sometimes I just feel so overwhelmed with so many people and faces to remember. But I will get it down. Our ward is having "Rescue the One Mission Week" right now where we meet up with ward members and invite the Less-Actives to come to church this Sunday for a "Grand Reunion" after the meetings. So we have stayed busy this week and have met lots of new less-actives.
My favorite part of the city is that we are so close to the temple. Every Thursday they have temple tours where people come and the missionaries show a video about temples and give tours of the temple grounds. It is so great! Plus we have District Meeting every Monday at the chapel so I just feel that we are there ALL of the time. So yes there are perks to being assigned in the city. I also get to see President and Sister Schmutz every once in a while which always makes me happier :)
Things are still moving along here. I'm doing my best to teach my companion the language and all of that fun stuff. We have met lots of people to teach here and the people in the city are much more receptive to the gospel than my first two areas. You'd think it'd be opposite. I'm enjoying our work here.
I have started studying the New Testament this past week and I am loving it!! Today I read the parable about the 10 Virgins. I love this parable because that is the parable we shared with Brother Wilson Ganigan the day he FINALLY decided to be baptized. It is so applicable to our day. We need to be adding oil- drop by drop- into our lamps all of the time. We can do this by going to church each Sunday, praying, preparing physically, and by reading the scriptures. Here on my mission I have learned the importance of reading the scriptures every day. If we read, we will pray. If we read, we will go to church. If we read, we will remember our covenants. If we read, we will remember the commandments. And just like Nephi promises, if we hearken to the Lord and read, we will receive eternal life. I hope that when I get home I am a more diligent studier of the scriptures. They have so much to teach us! Set apart time to read and study. Don't just quickly read. Read with your heart!
I love my mission so much and I am so grateful for the opportunities I have here in the mission. I know the gospel and church of Jesus Christ are so true! I hope that all is well back home and that you are all healthy and happy. Missions are Miracles :)

Baho
So yes, the subject line of my email is the word "baho" which means "bad smell" in Visaya. Why did I chose this word you may ask? Because....my nose has never smelled so many disgusting smells in my life until I was transferred here to the city!
This week was a good one although it was pretty stressful. I am just trying to keep everything going while trying to balance everything! It's quite the task! We haven't had a ton of support from the ward or from the other sisters yet which has been hard. But things will get better and we will eventually learn the area. Sometimes I feel like I just went through all of this and then I remember, oh yeah I did...just last transfer! But it will get better. I know that.
Our ward is actually super functional. It's amazing! So it's nice to know all we have to do is focus on the missionary work and not have to worry about fixing or helping the leaders. They have a grand reunion planned for the 30th of this month where they want their attendance at Sacrament to go up by 50 more people. It sounds crazy but I know it is possible with the ward and the leadership here.
It's fun to live in a house with another companionship: Sister Ta and Sister T. It also has its challenges but so far I am enjoying it. Sister Ta was also trained by my 2nd trainer, Sister B, and Sister B was trained here in Mabolo! So it's always fun to talk to people about her. My companion is still pretty homesick and it has been hard for her to adjust to the mission life. So please, keep her in your prayers.
I also received some bad news about my last companion Sister S who went home last transfer. She has had THE most tragic life and we found out that her grandma died, her niece died, and her sister committed suicide in the time she has been home. I am just in shock. I love her so much and I worry about her all of the time. SO please, keep her in your prayers as well.
Anyway, I know the gospel is true! I love being a missionary and teaching people about the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is so evident that the gospel is true. There is such a difference in the lives of those who live the complete gospel of Jesus Christ from those who don't! It's amazing. I am so grateful to have this opportunity to serve a mission for my Savior Jesus Christ. I miss you all but I am staying busy enough that it takes the sting away :) Thanks for all of your love and support!

City girl na ko.
FAMILY!!!
Okay I just want to start out by telling you that I have seen more people in the last 2 days than I ever saw in 7 weeks in Bohol!! The city is a CRAZY place!! We left Monday morning from Bohol (yes, I was SO sad) then we waited for an hour for to the APs to come pick us up at the dock but after waiting for an hour we took a taxi to the temple and we started our craziness here in the city.
My new area is in the heart of Cebu City. We are living with 2 other sisters who are also assigned in our ward. The ward is really big and I am so EXCITED to work, work, work. They are splitting the missionary work in the Mabolo Ward into 2 so in all there are 4 sisters assigned here. For the next couple of weeks we will be going on splits with them so we can learn the area...I am so glad they are here to help. I am still tired from opening my last area!! The area is crazy. As I said there are SOOO many people. It's like being back in China again. The people here are SUPER poor. We have 2 of the biggest malls in Cebu in our area....haha, don't worry, it's all too expensive.
I love my companion and I admire her strength. Her visaya is coming along great. I feel so humbled that I was the one chosen to train her. Keep praying for us! That she will understand my teaching her the language and that she'll be able to speak in no time. My voice has taken a toll this week with me doing all of the talking and conversing but I know with the Lord's help she'll be a visaya machine any time.
I'm not sure what else to update on but that I am so happy here on my mission. I have learned so many things I never thought I would! I am very sad to not be in Bohol anymore but I know the Lord is involved in everything. I also just heard that the sisters in my first area, Balamban, have been pulled out!! That is so sad. Someone broke into their apartment. I guess I am just cursed. Wherever I am assigned will be closed, haha.
I love you all and thank you for your support and kindness! You are all the best!!!!

Wala na ang manok!! The chicken is no longer!!!
Oh my family, I am so excited to be writing to you!! I have so many things to update you all on.
Last Thursday I left for Cebu and hung out with elders for 6 hours before they dropped me off at a sister's apartment...it was kind of weird but kind of fun! I traveled with 2 elders on the boat and then APs picked us up...and they had some visits to make so I just went along. I forgot how much fun 20 year old boys have...especially when driving large vans in the crazy Philippines.
So my new companion is Sister P....from INDIA!! Isn't that so cool? Yes, I think it is. This is the coolest story: So 2 transfers ago I was talking to Sister Schmutz and she told me that an Indian sister was coming and I just felt the Holy Ghost tell me, "you are going to train her." So I have actually had that idea in the back of my head for the past 2 transfers. it's the craziest thing! And every time I slacked off in Language Study, I always felt so bad because I knew I really needed to prepare. So when I got to Cebu the APs told me they thought I was going to train the Tagalog speaker so I started to believe them...anyway we went to the matching meeting and of course...I am training the Indian sister. So you may be asking why did the Spirit always encourage me to be diligent in my language study? Because Sister P has had ZERO language training. They send the Indian sisters straight to Manila and they don't get any kind of language study or training. So yes, I, Sister Trayner, who has not yet been in the field for 6 months is TEACHING a crazy jungle language to my companion!
So far it has been a good experience. I am trying to get her as involved as possible in everything, including teaching. Although most of them don't understand what she is saying I know they can feel the Holy Ghost. She has a tall mountain to climb...but I know she can do it....and I am the one who has to keep her going! She was in a bit of culture shock when she got here- Sister, do we have hot water? no. Sister, do we have a washing machine? ummm...no. "Sister, can we ask President to get us some kind of transportation here?" umm...you can ask, haha. So yes...she is getting accustomed to it all...and it turns out the Philippines is different from India...haha, crazy in two different ways from what I've heard.
Also, President Schumtz called yesterday. You know I thought if I was going to transfer I'd be transferring on Transfer Day. Not a week later. But turns out next Monday Sister P and I will BOTH be transferring to Cebu City (Mabolo ward)....because President feels that it will be better for her to be trained there and also our area here in Bohol is super crazy and we've had a really hard time since we can't get to some of our areas due to the fact that sisters can't ride motorcycles. Yes, I am very sad. I LOVE BOHOL so much. A little bit of me is disappointed. Last transfer due to some problems that my companion had we weren't able to work as hard as I had wanted to so I was really looking forward to getting to work here. But...we are being pulled out.
I am going to miss Bohol SOOOO much! Oh I just have this fear that I will be stuck on Cebu the rest of my mission....and I just love this island so much. So please pray for me that I can make the adjustment!
Anyway things are going great here. It's just sad we are leaving. But I know that Mabolo will be a better place for Sister P to be trained and there are people there we will be able to teach and help.I just pray I get assigned again here in Bohol....(haha, see I just can't get over it) Thanks for your emails! Y'all are just the bomb-diggity....I have the BEST family ever. Keep those emails and pictures coming!!!

They haven't eaten the chicken yet. Wala pa sila nagkaon sa manok.
FAMILY!!!
Oh my goodness!! I LOVED the emails you sent this week. They were all of quality. So thank you. I think last Conference Elder Bednar talked about how members need to write missionaries...not just write, but write quality letters.... :) So thank you, it does mean a lot to me when you tell me stories in your life and things!
So...Sister S left on Monday and right now I have a temporary companion, Sister L from Valencia Branch. Her branch is in the same District. She is so great! She is just waiting for her mission call so she doesn't have work or anything. She is so awesome to come and help out the Cortes Branch. It's too bad she's not a real missionary here because I really like her!
And....drum roll, please.......I AM TRAINING! Crazy, right? Yes, cuh-razee. I'm not sure what my emotions are right now in this moment, haha. I always thought I would train when I was older in the mission. I am excited. I am nervous. It's going to be great. Maganak ko!! So yes tomorrow evening I will go with 2 of the elders from our Zone and then Friday Morning I will pick up my new companion, we'll have a training session, and we'll come back to Bohol together. President Schumtz told me I hit the mission record of 5 companions in 5 transfers! Haha, so true. I have had so many! But since I will be training I should finally have a companion for longer than 6 weeks. That will be nice.
So Cortes Branch....yes....it has been another hard week but I'm still kicking. I've had some awesome experiences in my personal study lately that have kept me going and helped me know what needs to be done in this area. We have had many a Less-active hide from us in these past days that all I do now is just laugh. What else am I supposed to do? We are also challenged because in our area they only have jeepneys (bus type things) in the mornings and early afternoons and our area is super duperly far away so we've had to study in the evenings instead. But some nights we just have no where to go because most of the Less-Actives live in the far away parts and there are only 3 members or so who live in walking distance from our apartment. So yes, after P-Day, in the evenings, it is always a success...haha. Anyway enough of my ranting.
We finally committed the long-time investigators to ask and pray about Joseph Smith, and they did it! They received an answer! But, they still do not want to be forced into being baptized....so we will continue to teach the doctrine, keep inviting, keep praying and I know the day will come when the Aquaviva family will be baptized.
Well family thanks for the emails. Also I received a package in Cebu so I will get it Friday...I hope it's the package from Nana. I'll let her know if it is from her. Thanks for your love and support. I am totally healthy now! And it might rain to day which means a break from this heat streak! Hallelujah!!! Thank you for your prayers, they have kept me going these past 6 weeks.
Love you lots,
Sister Nicole Trayner

I despise chickens
Every morning at exactly 4 o'clock in the morning our neighbor's chicken cock-a-doodle-dos. And every morning I groan as I throw my pillow over my face. Here in the Philippines they LOVE chickens. They buy chickens, feed them to get superly duperly plump and then you know, they kill it and eat it for a birthday or some other special celebration. So although we live in an apartment our neighbors still tie up their chickens outside. There are chickens EVERYWHERE. And I have come to despise them. They are so, so, loud. I just always want to go talk to our neighbors and say, "I sure hope your chicken is more delicious than the sleep I could have had!"
Anyway, hello family!!! I hope you've had a great week. Thank you to those of you who wrote me. I love getting emails!
Also,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MADELEINE!!! I can't believe you are 5 years old, Maddie! I miss you a lot and I hope you have a great birthday! Go get some Rita's!!
Today is going to be such a wonderful day. We are going to Chocolate Hills and we are going to see some Tarsiers! Hopefully I'll be able to hold one!! They are the cutest little monkey things ever! I am very excited. I love Bohol!
I have recovered from my mysterious virus....after I wrote last week I spoke too soon because Thursday and Friday I broke out in rashes EVERYWHERE and it looked as if I had some kind of skin disease. But I am fine now. It was seriously the strangest thing that has ever happened to me.
We weren't able to teach very much last week due to my virus thingy....in fact I can't even think of any interesting stories. On Monday we had a Service Project and the elders killed a yellow poisonous snake...that was interesting and a little bit frightening to watch! Some members of another branch are going to transfer their house to a new plot of land so we just cleared the land of trees and plants and things. I just always laugh because I know the Lord sent me here to learn to be comfortable in the outdoors. I never was much of an outdoorsy person before! But now it's great.
My companion is going home next week and I will have another temporary companion! I don't know her yet because she is from a different branch so I hope she is normal and that she is ready to work, work, work! She'll be my companion Monday to Friday when my new companion will come. I've had so many companions! I just hope I'll have my next one for more than 6 weeks. We'll just have to wait and see.
This past week I've been thinking a lot about prayer. Here in the Cortes Branch we have taught so many less-actives who have told us that they never even prayed to know if the church was true or if Joseph Smith was a true prophet. And each time I am just shocked. How did they pass their baptismal interview??? Why were they baptized if they never even prayed? But it is the same for us as active members of the church. It is important that we are always doing our part to obtain a testimony and that we are always praying to know. If we read our scriptures, we should ask to know if what we have read is true. Every time we read or hear a talk by President Monson we should pray to know if he is a true prophet. We should always be asking because then we will always be receiving answers and reassurance. So my challenge for all of you is do to just that. Read, Ponder, and Pray/Ask.
This area is still full of challenges but I am learning to love it no matter what. Come what may and love it :) i have learned so much this past transfer and I am so grateful for the things i have learned. I hope that all is well back at home and that you are all happy! I pray for all of you all of the time.
love you lots,

Jungle Fever
Hello my dearests!
So yes, I thought of my subject line while I laid in bed ALL DAY yesterday. We're not sure what I was sick with but Sister Schmutz thinks it was a mild form of Dengue Fever. So I was banished to my bed for a whole day and let me tell you what...I pray that NEVER happens again. Fevers are not fun here in the Philippines. I was seriously on a roller coaster of heat to sweating it all out for days...it wasn't fun :( But I am doing much better now, thank goodness.
Also, before I forget...Thanks Emily for sending me a package! WOW! (Rach please let her know I got it) I loved the watch and the earrings and most of all the letters and pictures from back home. I have the best friends :)
We continued to plug a long this week in Cortes....last Friday morning we had only 2 lessons for the whole week. I was so discouraged and thought to myself, "well this seems impossible!" Anyway, I had a heart-to-heart with my scriptures and Heavenly Father and things worked out. We ended up teaching 17 more lessons in 3 days. We also had an investigator family come back who we thought were far gone...and they went to church (well the mom and daughter) I've learned a lot about faith this week. And this area is going to take A LOT A LOT A LOT of faith.
We had Zone Conference on Monday and it was fantastic. President Schumtz talked about being set-apart and I just realized that while I am an ordinary person I have been set-apart to do extraordinary things and so I need to remember that! It was a great meeting and of course I just loved seeing the Schmutzs. They are my favorite.
Today we have a District Activity to a Bee Farm and also we are going to some caves. Should be pretty cool!
A new senior couple arrived for our District this week and I am so excited!!! SENIOR COUPLES ARE THE BEST!!!! They are so sweet, Elder and Sister Jacob from Orem. They don't live to far away from us and they have already been such a great help. I don't even hesitate when thinking about serving a mission with my husband in the future. It is a definite YES.
None of you had much news in your letters so I hope that all is well and that life is happy. Hopefully Zach's visa gets here pretty soon. I can't believe how long he has been waiting! Yikes.
This week I finished reading the Book of Alma and I love the story about Moroni and Pahoran. Moroni was so angry at Pahoran because they weren't receiving any help from the government and he wrote a very, very, very angry letter to him. But I love Pahoran's response. He wasn't angry at all. It is so clear he chose to look at things from both perspectives. Life is what you make of it. And full of responses. I hope we can all choose to be more like Pahoran. Choose to not be offended. Choose to react in a calm matter. Life is made up of reactions!
Love you all,
Nicole
